Not only does this program connect you with an exciting box of BBQ and goods every month, but for every month of active subscription, we will donate 2 meals to local families in need. If we have 50 active subscriptions, that month we will donate 100 meals.The best part? Not only does the CSA extend all year long — you can start anytime!
What is it?
Our CSA is a subscription program. Every month you will either pick up your box or have it delivered to your door, depending on your subscription program. CSA boxes always include the Nickel’s BBQ you know and love, but also possibly sides, sauces, desserts or baked goods, and local products. Every month, the box is different, new, and exciting — something to really look forward to each month!
What does CSA mean?
A CSA is a program popular to local farmers — it stands for “community supported agriculture”. We stole that idea and applied it to BBQ! Essentially, it’s a way to pay up front for goods in the future.
What’s in the box?
It depends! Some boxes are meal kits (the world’s best taco kit, or our brunch boxes were popular last time). Sometimes, it’s a great meal, ready to reheat and eat!
Do I get to pick what I get?
Nope! The boxes will be different each month, and that’s part of the fun! We will always include information on everything you get, as well as preparation instructions when needed.
Is there any prep involved?
Sometimes there is some light cooking you’ll need to do to put things together — but we will do all of the hard work and include instructions for how to best enjoy your goods.
How much stuff do I get?
Your CSA will always be enough food for 2+ people for a meal, plus leftovers and other items for future days. These are the best value we can offer — the value of the boxes will always be greater than what you pay. Not only that, but you’ll be helping your community by donating meals through us!
I have a family of 4. (Or 5, 6, 8, etc). What do I do?
You can order multiple subscriptions and we will stack them!
When do I get it?
Your CSA will come around the same time every month, and we will send out an email at the beginning of the month to let you know exactly what day.
Can I skip a month?
Yep! If you’re on vacation or unable to accept your box one month, just let us know and we will skip a month for you.
Tell me how the subscription works!
You got it! It’s a little cheaper the longer you sign up for. It’s automatically recurring - so once you sign up, you don’t have to do anything else. You can cancel anytime or skip months. Our goal is to make your CSA something you look forward to every month.
Is gratuity necessary or expected?
Nope! Your monthly fee covers everything we need. If you do want to tip your driver or our CSA workers, you are welcome to do so, but it is not expected!
Ok, I signed up. When can I expect my first delivery?
Your subscription will always start the following month. So if you sign up in December, your first delivery will be in January.
Do I have to be home to get my delivery? When are you coming?
Once you sign up, we will be in touch to get your delivery preferences. It’s generally best to be home when your delivery arrives, especially in the summer (for temperature/storage reasons). Most deliveries are in the late afternoon or evening to accommodate work schedules. If no one is there, we will leave it at your front door for you!
Can I buy a subscription for someone else as a gift?
Absolutely. They make amazing gifts!

Fine print: All subscriptions are automatically recurring. 3 month pickup subscription will be charged 185.97 every 3 months, 6 month is 353.94 every 6 months, etc.
When you order, your first delivery will be the following month (orders in December will begin in January, orders in January begin in February, etc).
Delivery area is limited to the following areas: WG, Hector, Burdett, Montour Falls, Corning, Painted Post, Ithaca, Penn Yan, Hammondsport, Bath). If you are unsure if your address is too far for delivery, please reach out to nickel@nickelspitbbq.com.
